This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy“) applies to www.girlempowerment.org  (and its respective subdomains) and the various social networking platforms that we use (each, a “Site” and collectively the “Sites”). The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to disclose to you what information we may collect when using the Sites and in our providing of our Services ( we will refer to your use of the Sites and our Services collectively as the “Services”), how we may collect it, with whom we may share it, and certain other matters related to such information, including the choices you have regarding our collection of information and our use and disclosure to other parties of information we may have collected from you.

The Site is operated by Girl Empowerment Inc. and its corporate affiliates (including its parent company, On Girl Empowerment Inc.) (referred to collectively in this policy as “we,” “us,” “our” and other similar pronouns). You understand and agree that any information collected via the Site (including, without limitation, personally identifiable information) shall be jointly owned by us and our affiliates.

By using our Services, you acknowledge that we will use your information in the United States and any other country where we operate. Please be aware that the privacy laws and standards in certain countries, including the rights of authorities to access your personal information, may differ from those that apply in the country in which you reside. We will transfer personal information only to these countries to which we are permitted by law to transfer personal information, and we will take steps to ensure that your personal information continues to enjoy appropriate protections. Flash LSOs

SOCIAL NETWORKING

We maintain a presence on several social networking and blogging platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and IG we also incorporate some third-party social networking features onto our Site. Through these platforms and features, we receive some personal information and some Site usage information about you, and this Privacy Policy applies to that information as well. We may also include tools on our Site that allow you to share and/or publicly post content or information from our Site to your profile on a third-party social network. Third-party social networking platforms and blogging platforms have their own privacy policies which explain how they will use, protect and share your information, including any information you share on those platforms from our Site, and we encourage you to read them.

DO NOT TRACK DISCLOSURES

Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” (DNT) signals to the websites with which the user communicates. Because of differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them. We currently do not change our tracking practices (which are explained in more detail above) in response to DNT settings in your web browser.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

You should be aware that when you are on the Site you could be directed to other websites beyond our control. For example, if you “click” on a banner advertisement, the “click” may take you off the Site onto a different website. This includes links from advertisers, sponsors, and marketing partners that may use the Site’s logo as part of a co-branding agreement. These other websites may send their own cookies to you, independently collect data or solicit personal information and may or may not have their own published privacy policies. SECURITY

While we endeavor to protect the security and integrity of sensitive Personal Information collected via this Site, due to the inherent nature of the Internet as an open global communications vehicle, we cannot guarantee that any information, during transmission through the Internet or while stored on our system or otherwise in our care, will be absolutely safe from intrusion by others, such as hackers.

If you correspond with us by e-mail, text message, or using web forms like a “Contact Us” feature on our Site, you should be aware that your transmission might not be secure. CHAT ROOMS, FORUMS, AND MESSAGE BOARDS

The Site may make chat rooms, forums, commenting, and message boards available to you and other users. You are not required to provide any personal information when using these areas, but you may choose to do so. If you post personal information online, it will be publicly available, and you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties. By using the commenting features of the Site, you acknowledge that your username and location information will be disclosed. We cannot ensure the security of any information you choose to make public in a chat room, forum, or message board. Also, we cannot ensure that parties who have access to such publicly available information will respect your privacy. Please exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information in these areas. A SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS CONCERNING PRIVACY

The Site is a general audience website. On the Site, we do not currently knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of thirteen.

The Internet offers children wonderful educational and entertainment resources. Your guidance and involvement are essential to help ensure that children have a safe and rewarding online experience. We may change this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will let you know by posting the changed Policy on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. In some cases, we may request your consent to the changes.

CORRECTING/UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your email address or zip code), or if you no longer desire to have access to the Site, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove the personal data you have provided to us.
